Queen Anne Elementary PTSA Officers, 2012-2013

Co- President:   Lee Wierdsma
Lee is the parent of three children in SPS : Luke, currently in 8th grade at Hamilton International Middle School, and Nora and Gray who are in 5th and 2nd grade at QAE.  Lee’s work background is in advertising and brand marketing; she's worked for 20+ years for large ad and graphic design agencies in addition to consulting for clients such as Microsoft, Starbucks, and Getty Images.  Lee knows how to work effectively with others, develop solid strategic plans, and communicate well.  She has the capacity to manage many things simultaneously and to bring a level-headed approach to challenges set before her.  All of these skills will serve Lee well in her first year as PTSA co-president role.  Lee loves the Queen Anne community and Queen Anne Elementary in particular, and is excited about the prospect of giving back in this PTSA capacity.  She’d like to do everything in her power to help the school realize its dreams while facilitating a positive and productive relationship between the parent body and the staff.

Co- President:  John Ruljancich

John is the parent of two QAE students, Luka in 2nd grade and Penelope in 1st grade.  John currently works as the Director of Business Development at Medio Systems, where he is responsible for creating new business relationships. Some of John’s skills that translate to the requirements of the PTSA Co-president role are: listening to needs and creating a solution to meet those needs all while staying within the framework of his company goals.  John has spent time volunteering in the classrooms and is excited about his opportunity to further contribute to QAE. This is John's first year as Co-President.

Secretary:  Shelly Dillon

Shelly is the mother of QAE student, Vince Dillon, who is in 3rd grade this year. Shelly is excited to continue on as the PTSA Secretary and has enjoyed the past year and working with such a talented, engaged, and passionate team of parents who are all working hard to make sure all QAE students are supported academically, emotionally, and socially. Shelly, along with her husband Joe, are excited to be part of this community and assist in the growth and evolution of the school.

Co-Treasurer:  Brook Wessel

Brook’s daughter Gabriella is in her second year at QAE in the second grade. His son Alexander is a six grader at Hamilton. Brook is stoked to continue to serve so that he can actively participate in pouring the foundation of our QAE community. Brook believes it is simply compelling to witness a vision become reality while knowing that he has helped that vision along the way. This is Brook's second year as Co-Treasurer.

Co-Treasurer:  Joani Benoit

Joani took accounting courses in college and grad school and did large-budget tracking in her early career in brand management at General Mills and Kraft. Since then, Joani has run her own trial consulting business where she assists clients with large commercial matters, conducting mock-trial research and helping experts explain complex technical and financial data to jurors. She loves reading, travel, and talking about herself in the third person. Joani and her husband Vince Vonada live in Magnolia with daughters and QAE students Frances (5th grade) and Ella (3rd).
