gained the self-confidence necessary for public speaking through SSIA
Debate.
*High school students earned community service hours by designing and
leading art camps for younger students.

Elizabeth Kruse and I (and our boys) spent part of the day on Saturday planting tomatoes at the QAE community garden. When you've gotten your hands dirty, then patiently tended and cared for your plantings, there is nothing like the reward you feel when that first flower blooms, or that first vegetable is harvested! It is the physical manifestation of the phrase, "hard work pays off." I'm so excited for our kids to experience it first hand.
Everything looks SO great, and we are very excited about how it is coming together. Although it still has a few empty beds, overgrown beds too and needs a good weeding, we aren't worried, because this coming Friday, a Windermere crew is coming to the rescue! Thanks to Windermere agent, and QAE kindergarten parent, Holley Ring, Windermere has adopted our garden for their annual community project! They will be tackling many of our remaining projects, including tearing down a improper compost shed, putting up a new composter, clearing away the rest of the unwanted, overgrown remains of the old garden, and doing some general clean up.
If you would like to come join the work crew, we would love to have you! One can never have enough willing hands in a garden! The Windermere team will start around 9 AM and be there for several hours. Please come when you can. (The garden is on the East side of the new QAE school grounds)
Thanks to Windermere Reality and all our hardworking volunteers!
Hope to see you Friday,
